Project Description

The World Justice Project has a custom website built on Drupal (version 6), and we are now seeking to retain a developer who can help maintain and update the site on a regular and on-call basis. A goal for 2014 is to redesign and rebuild the site, though that project is pending funding. So, until a new site is built, we are looking for help with:

-Security updates to the site software
-Reviewing and providing guidance on our hosting solution
-Monitoring the site error log, debugging errors
-Occasionally updating pages/modules with new content and/or creating or removing pages from current navigation (simple page edits, slideshows, blog posts, etc. are done by staff who have basic training in the Drupal backend).
-Providing analysis on optimizing site performance and reliability
-Working with site’s backend CiviCRM functionality as needed
-Providing emergency site support as needed (not anticipated to be often)

Timeline

The engagement will begin ASAP. Due to an upcoming event in early March, we expect to generate a spike in visits to our site during that time. So there is an immediate need to make some changes to a small number of pages and evaluate our hosting in time for that launch.

After March, we would anticipate mostly monitoring and occasional maintenance to the site until the site rebuild happens, which we hope to achieve in summer or fall of 2014.

Proposals

Interested developers should respond with a general proposal explaining their capacity and expertise to carry out the responsibilities outlined above. Please cite hourly rate and a suggested monthly budget for regular and ongoing support and maintenance, with the understanding that the number of hours reserved may be adjusted upwards or downwards after speaking with the World Justice Project about their needs in greater detail.

Deadline for proposals: January 29th, though earlier submissions are encouraged.

Please email proposals to: mcgannb@wjpnet.org
